What is Ncfe Level 1 equivalent to? ›

The qualification is graded at level 1 pass/merit/distinction and level 2 pass/merit/distinction/distinction* (equivalent to GCSE grades 8.5 to 1). To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve all learning outcomes from the single graded mandatory unit.

Functional Skills Maths Level 1 is equivalent to a GCSE Maths grade 1 to 3 (D to G). NCFE originally stood for Northern Council for Further Education, but it dropped the full name in the 1990s, as it no longer accurately reflected the company's growing national focus. Now the company is known simply as NCFE.

To complete the Diploma learners must achieve a minimum of 37 credits. A minimum of 25 credits must be achieved from Group A. The remaining 12 credits can be achieved from either Group A or B.
