The only “hard part” to this is breaking the cookies in half so that they are even bat wings. If it doesn’t break evenly, no problem. The bats still look super cute if they have one wing bigger than the other. Hahah! Enjoy!

For the chocolate sandwich cookies, we like the thin cookies best. The regular oreos and such are a little heavier and gravity pulls the wings off more easily. We usually use the Oreo Mint thins, because they are delicious and thin. Make sure you have extra chocolate sandwich cookies. There will always be some which break into unusable sizes.

You can make your own frosting or by the frosting in the ready to pipe packaging. We here's awhite and black frosting we've used and liked. Here's a pastry tip set which has most of the tips we ever use.

Ingredients

  • 6 thin chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 12 mini peanut butter cups
  • 1 oz. black frosting (red would be cool too)
  • 1 oz. white frosting
  • optional - edible candy eyes

Instructions

  • Remove the wrappers from the mini peanut butter cups. Set aside. Separate the sandwich cookies and remove the center filling (discardor eat the filling).

  • Break the chocolate cookies in half, creating the "bat wings".

  • Place the frostings in pastry bags fit with small tips, or cut the tip of the pre-packaged frosting for a small hole.

Pipe a bit of the frosting on one corner of each bat wing. Press them onto the center of the peanut butter cup. Pipe eyes and other face features desired, such as fangs like we did in the photo.

Repeat and now it's spooktacularparty time!
