How to Store
This caramel frappuccino recipe is going to be best right after making it (it will get watery when stored), but don’t let leftovers go to waste. Store in a cup with a lid, airtight container, or sealed jar, and keep it in the fridge for a day. It will be fully liquid by then (any ice will be melted), so I recommend blending it up with more ice to get that texture back. I don’t recommend freezing it.
Serving Suggestions
This homemade caramel frappe is the perfect afternoon or morning treat to enjoy with chocolate peanut butter protein balls, a slice of chocolate chip banana bread, or egg bites.
What is a frappuccino?
A Frappuccino is a blended coffee drink made with coffee, milk, ice, and syrups of flavorings. It can be a smooth, chilled drink, or made chunkier to create a frozen, icy texture.
How many calories are in this caramel frappe recipe?
A grande Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks has around 330 calories (without whipped cream). This “skinny” homemade caramel frappe has under 100 calories per serving!
How much ice do I need for a frappuccino?
I use 3 cups of ice for this blended coffee drink, but you can use more or less depending on how smooth or chunky you want your drink.
Can I use espresso to make this frappe?
If you use only espresso, you’ll have a lot less liquid (compared to using cups of coffee), so you would need to add more milk to make up for it. Feel free to experiment with the ratios. You can also add a shot of espresso to the blender with the coffee if you really want a caffeine kick.
Can I make this caramel frappuccino dairy-free?
Absolutely! You can use any type of milk you like, including oat milk or almond milk. There are also lots of dairy-free coffee creamers to choose from.
Can I use leftover coffee to make a frappe?
Yes! If you have a leftover pot of coffee, store it in the fridge in an airtight container or jar, then it’ll be chilled and ready to make your frappuccino.
